Since 2020, we’ve been leveraging the powerful benefits of probiotics and bayou botanicals like saw palmetto, black pepper, rice, clove, and more to develop specialized, and inclusive eczema-focused care products We are named after the late, Grandma Beatrice, herbalist, pie-baker, matriarch, and spiritual woman. Without sacrificing styling performance, we offer cleansing, conditioning, and leave-on solutions.
Our Story
Thank you for checking out Bea's Bayou Skincare! I'm Arielle, Founder/CEO. Bea's Bayou Skincare is named after my Louisiana-born, maternal grandmother, Beatrice, and the bayou I played in as a kid around her home. She raised animals, planted fruits and vegetables, and was the area's "pie lady", selling the BEST pies around (hands down)! She also turned to herbs as healers, inspiring my mother and now, me!
As someone with Seborrheic dermatitis, I understand all too well not getting to fully express myself out of insecurities around my scalp, but probiotics helped me from the inside and research backed up my hunches that they could help me topically as well. Combining microbiome-friendly ingredients with bayou herbs to soothe others' pains, is a way for me to honor my grandmother, Beatrice, my heritage, and our values - empathy, integrity, audacity, collaboration, and JOY!
Since launching, we've had some major magical moments - like winning the 2022 Aveeno and Essence Skin Health Pitch, running a successful crowdfund campaign, pitching on REVOLT TV's BET on Black Show, and getting the word out on numerous stages and events! We were even awarded by Beyoncé's BEYGood Foundation, Black Ambition Fund, Amazon BBA, Digital Undivided, Stitchcrew, and more.
